Yesterday, the New York City Opera Union filed charges against the company for unfair labor practices and attempted to get a court order to prevent its move from Lincoln Center.

In California, political and business leaders are seeking to create the state’s own immigration policy that includes providing basic necessities to all, including undocumented workers.

Brookdale University Hospital has fallen behind
on paying its benefits fund, causing workers to lose their healthcare benefits. Yesterday, employees gathered in the hospital’s lobby to protest their lack of coverage.

The New York City Appeals Court recently determined that the City should not be paying for New York City Off Track Betting (NYCOTB) retiree’s healthcare.

Liveries are concerned about the proposal to bring more yellow cabs and yellow cab medallions into the outer boroughs.  Drivers in Washington Heights have already held a protest against the proposed changed.
