By Samantha Saly & Marc Bussanich

As DC 1707 members, parents, children advocates and community organizations rallied along Broadway near City Hall, LaborPress had the opportunity to interview Council Member Lew Fidler, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, DC 37 Associate Director Henry Garrido, NYS AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento, NYC Central Labor Council President Vincent Alvarez and Council Member Letitia James. They each provided their views and opinions about what is at stake in this year’s $68 billion budget, as well as the urgent need to stop cuts to early child care services.
