99% of the Writers Guild of America members have voted to ratify their new contract with the AMPTP. WGA president Meredith Stiehm said “meaningful gains and protection for writers in every sector of our membership” had been achieved. However, Hollywood production is still stalled, and won’t be able to resume until SAG-AFTRA reaches an agreement with the same entity. Both are locked on a number of issues, including increases in minimum rates, and revenue share in streaming.
