An EMT in New York City was viciously stabbed multiple times in Mount Sinai Hospital West. The victim, Julia Fatum, was in the hospital emergency bay when the patient, Rudy Garcia, 48, became belligerent. When she told him to calm down, he pulled a large knife out of his sock. Fatum was stabbed repeatedly in her chest, arm and left leg, requiring stitches and surgery. On Monday, August 21, Garcia, who was arrested at the scene, was indicted on attempted murder and other charges.
