The American Legislative Exchange Council is coming to Chicago. Just like the Koch Brothers, StudentsFirst, Stand for Children and other extreme special interest groups, ALEC is all about enacting laws that benefit greedy corporations and hurt families here in Chicago and across the country.

This corporate front group has pushed hundreds of extreme state laws written by special interest lobbyists, and they are holding a 40th Anniversary meeting August 7-9 at the Palmer House Hilton. Join union members, students, retirees, community activists and faith leaders in filling the streets to protest ALEC in Chicago Thursday, August 8 at Noon outside the Palmer House.

If you look at who’s behind attacks on public schools, privatized prison schemes and the litany of anti-worker attacks that have been pushed in Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio, just to name a few, you’ll see what ALEC is all about. Dangerous and extreme bills meant to give even more power to the CEOs who ship jobs overseas and dodge their taxes are written by ALEC and then pushed by politicians in statehouses across the country.

Please join us to protest ALEC in Chicago Thursday, August 8th at Noon outside the Palmer House.
