New York, NY—On Tuesday the California High Speed Rail Authority and the State Building & Construction Trades Council of California started building the first aerial structure for California’s high-speed rail network. Soon after shovels hit the ground, high-speed Tweets populated Twitter as supporters for and detractors against the nation’s first true high-speed rail network voiced their positions.
The Twitter hashtag, #IWILLRIDE, featured construction workers operating cranes to build the first viaduct over the Fresno River, as well as members of the public attending a recent public hearing to express their opposition. Have a look below:
