A federal judge in Texas has blocked a Biden administration rule that would have expanded access to overtime for millions of salaried workers. Biden, has made numerous attempts to live up to his goal of being the most pro-labor President ever in the White House. Secretary of Labor Julie Su, who has in the past made many pro-labor stands herself, said, when the Biden rule’s finalization occurred in April, that the administration was “following through on our promise to raise the bar” also adding that it was “unacceptable” for lower-paid salaried workers to do the same job as their hourly counterparts with no additional pay. Now, unsurprisingly, Trump has begun to dismantle promises he made during his campaign to support the “middle-class” and fight for unions.
