New York, NY—Total trade between the U.S. and Canada was $680 billion in 2011. The countries are the world’s two biggest trading partners, with exports to Canada totaling $337 billion and Canadian imports worth $343 billion. The trade in materials and services is vast, from vehicles and machinery to plastics, agricultural and oil. John F. Prato, Canada’s Consul General in New York, said trade between the two countries is strong and expansive and responsible for 8 million jobs in the States, including 560,000 in New York.
