It was a bittersweet moment when I heard that Senator Barbara Boxer was retiring.
She’s served the families of California in Congress for three decades. Her list of accomplishments is far too long for this article. She’s stood up for privacy rights, for the right to choose, and for American workers’ retirement accounts for a long time.
Barbara Boxer has done great work — and I wish her the best of luck in the future. But as my colleague in the Senate, an ally in the fight for middle class families, and above all a friend — she will be sorely missed.
