Teamsters Local 705, located in Chicago, has won an $8.7 million racial discrimination lawsuit against carrier DHL Express. The lawsuit was filed by the EEOC in 2010, and it has taken fourteen years to see results. In shocking revelations, racism is alive and well at the mega-corporation. Black Teamsters in Chicago were treated differently on the job, subjected to “different terms and conditions,” and even worse, to “less desirable, more difficult and/or more dangerous dock and route assignments than white employees.”
