It’s an old story, and getting more familiar every day. Those at the top rake in billions, while the workers who make profits possible don’t share in the wealth. Teamsters at Local 997 in Fort Worth, TX, are fed up. On Feb. 17, they went on strike at the only brewery that services the entire Western region of the U.S. with major Molson Coors products such as Coors Light, Pabst, Yuengling, and many others. The action came after Molson Coors wouldn’t make a fair deal on a new three-year contract. The company offered a less than $1/hr raise for the majority of workers, is attempting to strip working families of their health care, among other policies. Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien said, “The greed and abuse from Molson Coors must end now.”
