In response to their management’s unfair refusal to offer a fair contract, workers at Caesars Southern Indiana Hotel & Casino have voted by a 98% margin to authorize a strike. The over 140 workers are represented by Teamsters Local 98 and Operating Engineers Local 399. President of Local 98, Avral Thompson, declared that the workers “would not back down,” and said,“this sends a clear message.” The Casino made over $240 million in revenue in 2024, and yet management will not offer fair retirement benefits and bargain fairly with the workers in their other economic issues.
