“Some Like it Hot” is based on the award-winning movie starring Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, Marilyn Monroe, and Joe E. Brown. This popular play can be seen at the Shubert Theatre, 225 West 44th Street in Manhattan.

“Some Like It Hot” is a rollicking, razzle-dazzle, and entertaining musical comedy for the entire family. The story is about two musicians who witness a gang murder and are forced to flee disguised as women in an all-girl band. The fast-paced musical was written by Matthew Lopez and Amber Ruffin with the duo that brought us the award-winning musical “Hairspray”: Music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Whitman. The toe-tapping and fast-paced show was directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw.

Do I hear Tony for the show and the marvelous actors? The show is led by Tony Award winner Christian Borle as Joe and the amazing J. Harrison Gee as Jerry.  Adrianna Hicks is wonderful and melodic as Sugar, Kevin Del Aguila’s comedic performance as Osgood, and Natasha Yvette Williams is wonderful as the leader of the all-girls band, Sweet Sue.

This is certainly a show that will warm your heart and soul and is wonderfully entertaining for the entire family.
