The subway conductor who was almost killed by a cowardly attacker who slashed him in the throat and then ran, was reunited with the man who saved his life. Alton Scott, 59, met his “angel” as he called him, days after he was attacked on Feb. 29. The incredible good fortune at the scene of the crime occurred when Dr. Patrick McGrory, who was returning home after a shift at the hospital, heard Scott’s cries for help and came running from two subway cars away. Dr. McGrory is a Pediatric EMT and a Vietnam veteran. He staunched the wound and waited until the paramedics, who took 20 minutes to arrive, were there. The Dr. was honored by TWU Local 100.
