Antonio Gaston, a father of four, suffered a gruesome death on Aug. 21 when he was caught on machinery at a Stellantis plant. Stellantis had forced workers to leave everything they knew in their Belvidere, Ill. plant and relocate to their Toledo, Ohio plant, where Gaston met his horrible fate. UAW President Shawn Fain railed against the event which he said should never have happened. The plant closure in Ill. had come just before talks began with the UAW over a new contract. Gaston had worked there for 12 years, and, said Fain, his death was due to “Greed, corporate greed.”
