Members of REI Union SoHo in downtown Manhattan, took their fight for a fair contract to the streets on May 23, 2022, conducting a rally in front of the store. They are represented by the RWDSU, and they were joined by its President, Stuart Appelbaum, fellow union members, elected leaders and workers from New York’s labor movement, and elected officials. Nothing has been done in terms of REI bargaining in good faith for a contract, and the workers had organized back in 2022. The rally was during REI’s annual Anniversary Sale, which is highly profitable for the company.
