Big gains have taken place in Michigan as well as Indiana, where workers have ratified new contracts. They are employed at two railroads, and are represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET)of the Teamsters Rail Conference. In Michigan, Teamsters will see a wage increase of 19.5 percent, among other wins. These workers, on the Huron and Eastern Railway, work on the 400 miles of track along the Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron. In Indiana, a contract was ratified, with significant wage increases and other improvements over the five years of the contract.
