The AFL-CIO, along with SAG-AFTRA, has unveiled a new website, Paywatch.org. It details the huge difference in CEO salaries compared to workers. It also addresses the growing threat of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the work and welfare of employees, particularly actors and writers. Both groups are currently on strike, and AI is one of the issues they want to see resolved in their favor. For actors, a condition of employment is often to sign away their rights to their likeness, which will then be utilized by AI to generate content. Writers also face losses linked to AI, as entertainment corporations seek to have AI take the place of real writers, with the profits in both cases rising to the top and decimating the income of the true creators.
