More than 21,000 union nurses at 21 Kaiser Permanente facilities in Northern California are set to strike on November 21 and November 22. This will be one of the biggest private-sector nurse strikes in U.S. history. RNs and NPs want management to agree to a contract that provides minimum staffing guidelines, increased hiring and training to end chronic short staffing, and job protections against Kaiser’s subcontracting and outsourcing plans.
