Albany, NY – New York State seasonally-adjusted unemployment figure remained at 4 percent in July, the third consecutive month it has been at that rate.
The States economy continued to grow in July 2019 with over 1,800 private sector jobs added. The statewide unemployment rate remained at 4 percent in July 2019 according to the New York State Department of Labor. The unemployment rates remained unchanged in New York City at 4.3 percent and outside of New York City at 3.7 percent in July 2019. However the number of unemployed New York State residents dipped slightly over the month, from 379,200 in June to 377,800 in July.
According to the NYS Governor Cuomo administration, New York’s economy has added 1,182,200 private sector jobs during the governors tenure.
