Staten Island, NY—On Monday August 18th , the New York State AFL-CIO endorsed Domenic M. Recchia Jr. for Congress in New York’s 11th congressional district. The endorsement was announced at the State Federation’s 2014 Political Education Convention. Recchia is challenging indicted incumbent Republican Michael Grimm.

For decades, these hard-working New Yorkers have been advocating on behalf of working families for crucial issues facing the middle-class, such as American manufacturing, mass transit and infrastructure, and education.” said Domenic M. Recchia, Jr.
Mario Cilento, President of the New York State AFL-CIO said, "As a member of the City Council, Domenic Recchia was a fearless and effective voice for New York's working families. He will bring that same leadership to Washington, fighting for good jobs, investment in our transportation infrastructure, and strong public services. We're proud to support his campaign, and look forward to working with him on behalf of the hardworking men and women of Staten Island and South Brooklyn."
