Nurses Union Raises Its Voice on NIOSH Layoffs

The National Nurses United union, the largest union of registered nurses in the nation, has voiced its outrage over the latest Trump administration anti-union salvo. Shockingly, mass layoffs are planned at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is one of the most important parts of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Similarly to the cataclysmic dismantling of the federal workforce, this move would remove essential health and safety services at their workplaces. Their workplaces also serve to provide a safe area where nurses protect patients through their work. NIOSH has sounded the alarm on the privatization of health care through the administration and Republican agenda.
