The NLRB has ruled that sports equipment retailer REI, which presents itself as a “co-op,” has refused to bargain with their unions and has withheld years of wages as retaliation. One worker, a sales specialist at a store in North Carolina, called out the company for opposition from management, retaliation, misinformation, and disregard for basic labor law. The company opposes the comments, saying it will enter into good faith bargaining. REI has about 180 stores.
