The U.S. Department of Labor, along with the Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, and the U.S. Agency for International Development have joined together to strengthen protections for H-2B workers. This effort was announced in the White House H-2B Worker Protection Task Force report. These visa workers are often the victims of exploitation by their employers, and now will have the support of each agency working to improve their safety and security. Actions include better protections for workers engaged in labor disputes, sharing resources with workers to inform them of their rights, and joining together in a new working group, among other steps.
