Mrs. Doubtfire is playing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

New York, NY – If you want to enjoy a fun, family-oriented and well-acted show that keeps you laughing, Mrs. Doubtfire is the show for you.

At the two shows I attended,  I found audiences  both children and adults — continuously laughing throughout. In the time of Covid we need this kind of heartfelt and hilarious show.

The story, like the Robin Williams movie, centers around an out-of-work actor who is completely devoted to his children. After a divorce settlement, “Daniel Hillard” [played by Rob McClure in an outstanding Tony-worthy performance] creates an alter ego  a Scottish nanny named “Mrs. Doubtfire.” Theater ace Jenn Gambatese portrays Daniel’s wife. Future star-in-the-making Analise Scarpaci portrays the oldest daughter.

Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick wrote the music and lyrics. Jerry Zaks adeptly directs the production.

Mrs. Doubtfire is playing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, located at 143 West 43rd Street in New York City.
