An MTA worker, a station clearer, suffered two knife attacks on Jan. 2. This is just the latest in a long series of transit workers who have been the victims of crimes, ranging from being spit on, to being slit in the throat. In 2024, there were 40 attacks on transit workers, down from 2023, when there were 69. Still, they are at risk every single day they go to work. TWU Local 100, who is the man’s union, said he was in stable condition. The attacker had 87 prior arrests.
