Starting New Year’s Day, many low-paid workers will see their wages increase. The National Employment Law Project (NELP) has released a report to USA Today detailing the shift, which will help some workers keep pace with inflation. On or about Jan. 1, 21 states and 41 cities and counties will raise their minimum wages. Later in the year, other governments will join those states, reaching a total of 27 states and 59 cities and counties.
