NEW YORK, NY — The Municipal Credit Union (MCU) now has a mobile unit that will provide non-cash banking transactions to members. The van’s schedule will allow for convenient banking throughout New York City.
“MCU is thrilled to bring services to our members and the New York City community via our MCU Member Service Van,” said Corey Fernandes, MCU Vice President of Business Development/Member Relations, who is leading the credit union’s efforts in operating and managing the vehicle. “This van will help provide greater convenience for our growing membership and provide us with a great opportunity to engage with both members and our community at activities throughout the city.”
The MCU Member Service Van will supplement MCU’s branch network. Members visiting the MCU Member Service Van will be able to open new accounts, make changes to payroll and direct deposits, apply for loans, and have access to financial education resources. The van will become a staple at MCU-sponsored events and community activities in all five boroughs, allowing for new memberships to be set up with MCU representatives on site.
“With more than 500,000 members living and working in the New York City area, and many more New Yorkers eligible for membership at MCU, we wanted to find a unique and exciting way to bring banking services directly to them,” said MCU Acting President/CEO Norman Kohn. “The MCU Member Service Van is the perfect embodiment of our mission to serve members and provide the credit union difference of personal service to our members and giving back to our community.”
