Bronx, NY—Jonathan Lee was convicted in December for the attempted murder of parole officer Karen Gormley. He was sentenced to 40-years-to-life on Wednesday in State Supreme Court. According to Victor Antonio Perez, a parole officer and member of the state union Public Employees Federation, the actions by Lee and Robert Morales, who was also sentenced to 40-years-to-life recently for the same crime, illustrate the need for parole officers to receive full disability benefits like the NYPD or FDNY.
