Letter to the Editor – Tea Party No Party

To The Editor:
You and I are still recovering from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression but politicians in Washington and right here at home are already trying to set us up for the next one. Republicans in Congress, including New York’s own Tea Party leaders Nan Hayworth (Hudson Valley) and Michael Grimm (Staten Island/Brooklyn), are hard at work trying to dismantle the very regulations put in place to prevent another Wall Street meltdown.
Now, we don’t think that last year’s Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform Act was perfect but only because it didn’t go far enough. These right wingers, emboldened by their new Republican majority in the House, want to repeal even the most modest protections against Wall Street abuse.
