New York, NY – For the first time ever, LaborPress is honoring the outstanding graduating apprentices in New York City. Unions in the Big Apple are encouraged to participate. The “Outstanding Apprentices of the Year Awards” ceremony will take place on May 23rd at the District Council of Carpenters, 395 Hudson Street from 5 to 7 p.m. Building Trades in New York City have outstanding training programs and superstar apprentices should be recognized. We know that whether just starting out and making the wise decision to learn a trade, or shifting gears mid-career for a true shot at the middle-class — today’s union apprentices overcome significant obstacles and challenges on the path to becoming the best in the business. That’s why we’re asking each union head and training director for assistance in recommending one “Outstanding Apprentice of the Year” for a special award on May 23rd. Each union will develop their own criteria and the selection is entirely up to that labor organization. All we ask is the you let as know who you choose as soon as possible.
This spring’s “Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Awards” will be a unique opportunity to collectively honor the rank & file in a supremely collaborative way that emphasizes both the Labor Movement’s interdependency and solidarity in helping to rebuild America’s middle-class. The event will be a great opportunity to publicize the exceptional training programs of the building trades in New York City.
