It has been long known that Amazon is notorious for abusing its employees: having goals set that cause them to have to work at a death-defying pace, limiting breaks, even to use the restroom, and ignoring safety protocols. Now, it has come to light that a contractor involved in the building of a future Amazon facility was legally responsible for injuries to a laborer working on the project. Abbos Abbosov fell through a roof in May 2018, and suffered a serious head injury that led to a two month coma and has still not healed. Documents have shown that the demolition contractor kept log books falsely certifying that a licensed safety monitor was on site. In March, the contractors agreed to pay at least $4 million in damages to the worker.
