Lindsay Dougherty, a second-generation Teamster from Detroit, Mich., is tough as nails, not afraid to use a few curse words to make a point and add force to an argument. In 2022, she was elected Secretary-Treasurer of Local 399, then subsequently sworn in as IBT Western Region Vice President and appointed Director of the Teamsters Motion Picture Division. She idolizes controversial former union head Jimmy Hoffa, who mysteriously disappeared decades ago, and who, she says, was “willing to take a beating for his members.” She represents over 6,500 below-the-line industry workers in Los Angeles, including drivers, location managers, scouts, dispatchers, mechanics, and food handlers.
