"The president got a chance to look presidential on his trip to the Middle East. He was chummy with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that puts a Band-aid on a first-term open sore. He reassured a nervous Israel that he supports its security and is on the same page with them on the Iranian nuclear issue.
He also told the world that they should feel what it is like to be a Palestinian and he again endorsed an independent Palestinian state. And he issued a strong warning to Syria that the U.S. won't tolerate the use of chemical weapons. The trip in sum: words and photos. The president did no harm."
