IATSE Publications on September 15, 2022, updated its story about its members’ contributions at Ground Zero. In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, members “placed and operated the lighting equipment” that made it possible for emergency responders to do their work. Police and firefighters’ contributions are more widely known, but without IATSE the search and rescue operation would not have been possible. Health issues from dust inhaled haunt those heroic workers to this day.
