IATSE And “Fashion Star” Producers Reaches Agreement

The IATSE and the producers of “Fashion Star,” a reality series broadcast on NBC, have reached an agreement, which covers the 130-plus member crew of the series, now shooting its second season.
The contract recognizes the value of the skills the IA crew brings to the job and the employers’ willingness to address the issues important to the crew, who will receive health and pension benefits and standardized working conditions.
“Fashion Star” is produced by Fasstar Productions.
IATSE International President Matthew Loeb said, “The technicians who produce this programming have the same value and issues of workers in scripted television and deserve the same benefits and working conditions.”
“Fashion Star” is hosted by Louise Roe, and is a competition between designers that gives audience members the opportunity to order some of the designs featured on the show.
