Transport Workers Union of America has come through big-time for on-board Amtrak workers. Its new seven-year contract includes the largest wage increase for members in the agency’s 53-year history. The members had voted by a large margin to ratify the contract. The seven-year contract also includes retroactive pay, an industry-leading paid-parental leave program, bonus payments, and more, which together add up to an $80,000 increase for each member over the life of the contract. TWU Local 1460 is made up of 360 on-board workers.
