17,000 AT&T workers are on strike across the Southeast, protesting what they say are unfair labor practices by the company in recent contract negotiations. CWA represents the workers who are striking, and says the AT&T did not bargain in good faith, as well as sending negotiators who did not have the authority to make decisions. CWA District 3 VP Richard Honeycut said, “We have been met at the table by company representatives who were unable to explain their own bargaining proposals,” and did not have the bargaining authority legally required to bargain in good faith. The union has filed a complaint with the NLRB. Strikers include technicians, customer service representatives, and AT&T wire installation workers.
