Workers at Community Care Companions have voted in overwhelming numbers to join 1199 SEIU. These employees number over 1,600. Homecare is the fastest-growing occupation in the U.S., and also among the lowest paid. These very demanding job mostly serve a population of seniors and people with disabilities. Without adequate pay and lacking benefits, turnover of the workers is extremely high, putting the needs of this vulnerable group at risk.
