Home health care aides in New York City have ended their hunger strike, but vow to fight on. The workers are mostly women of color, as well as immigrant women. The ugly truth about the exploitation they face in their jobs led to their extreme action. These workers essentially have a 24-hour workday, as they are constantly on-call, yet they are only paid for 13 hours. They are calling on New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams to bring the No More 24 Act to a vote, or step down.
