The House Republican Leadership turned its back on millions of Americans impacted by Superstorm Sandy by failing to put the Senate supplemental bill up for a vote.
"The failure of House Republican Leadership to put the Sandy Supplemental to a vote is politics at its worst. The people impacted by Superstorm Sandy are not Democrats or Republicans – they are Americans, and they need the federal government's help. We will not let up in our fight until all those impacted by Sandy receive the aid they need." – Mario Cilento President NYS AFL-CIO
Republican Representatives Peter T. King of Long Island and Michael G. Grimm have called the act “disgraceful" and Democratic Representative Jerrold Nadler, referred to it as the “most disgraceful act” he had seen in his 20 years in the House.
Let's not forget this disgraceful action by the Republican leadership in Congress.
