Republicans and Democratic representatives Donald Norcross (D-NJ), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Haley Stevens (D-MI), and Mike Lawler (R-NY) have joined together in introducing the Warehouse Worker Protection Act. The current conditions for those who work in warehouses, particularly Amazon and Walmart, are astonishingly bad. According to a recent study, over half of warehouse workers at these two behemoth corporations say that because of required production rates, such necessary and basic rights such as being able to go to the bathroom are difficult. Injuries and illnesses are also over double the rate across all industries. Workers have also died on the job. In the Senate, Sens. Ed Markey (D-MA), Tina Smith (D-MN) and Bob Casey (D-PA) introduced the Act.
