In a big win for DHL sort workers at the DHL global hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), the company has recognized over 1,300 employees’ right to collectively bargain. The workers had joined Teamsters Local 89 and now will reap the benefits of the same contract 1,100 CVG ramp and tug workers are protected by. Across America, the Teamsters now represent over 7,300 workers at DHL Express. Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien contrasted this development with “corrupt Amazon executives” who “keep trying to crush workers’ efforts to organize” but said that the workers will win in the end.
