The Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have covertly struck a deal to make additions to the DGA contract that was negotiated months ago. Now, directors, like members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), will receive a streaming performance bonus. The difference is that while the DGA settled for less originally, members of other unions spent months on the picket line to get the bonus at all. One WGA member said, “[they] sat back and let their sister guilds fight the fight they couldn’t be bothered to.”
