LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Almost 1,500 gaming workers at four Las Vegas casinos have voted to join the United Auto Workers, the union announced March 17. The vote at Bally’s, Harrah’s, Paris, and the Wynn Dealers will give them “a strong voice in the workplace,” UAW Region 5 Director Vance Pearson said in a statement, and will bring the union’s membership at casinos to more than 8,000. “We expect another successful vote from Caesars’ workers next week,” UAW President Gary Jones added. “With these votes, the UAW is proud to have organized almost 9,000 new members since June of 2018.” Read more
