Dartmouth College has officially stated that it will not honor its basketball players’ union. In early march, the players had voted to form the first players’ union in the country. The vote was 13-2 to join SEIU Local 560. The school has said that it does not believe athletes in the Ivy League are employees, despite a ruling by the NLRB affirming that they are. The college’s move means that the matter may make its way to a federal court.
