NEW YORK, NY – Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 1180 and Local 1180 Retirees have endorsed John Liu for Mayor of New York City.
"John Liu is a courageous fighter for working families in our city by speaking truth to power," said CWA Local 1180 President Arthur Cheliotes. "We know John Liu has a record of standing up for the working families in our city, and the courage to expose the lies about workers who are scapegoated.
The rich and powerful in our city fear him because they can’t handle the truth. John Liu has challenged the mayor’s repetitive rhetoric with fact and figures. By speaking truth to power he has become the target of a smear campaign that is long on repetitive rhetoric and innuendo but short on the facts."
"John Liu has a tremendous record protecting pensioners and taxpayers with stellar investment returns under his management," said CWA Local 1180 Retirees President Adelle Rogers. "He has rooted out wasteful spending, all the while making concrete recommendations about how city agencies can serve the people of this city. "
