In Sumner, Wash., over 150 Costco fleet drivers have voted to authorize a strike. Costco management has refused to bargain in good faith, leading to the action. The group of drivers had been the first-ever Costco distribution center workers to organize with the Teamsters’ Local 174 in April. Rick Hicks, Secretary-Treasurer of the Local, said, about the members, “They’re strong, they’re motivated, and they’re ready to fight.” Costco’s image as “pro-worker” has been challenged by the recent developments.

The Teamsters are a strong and reputable union- J.Hoffa would be proud.
As a Cement and Concrete Worker Local Union 20. I’ve eagerly supported my union via picket lines in NYC.- our organizers [Pete, Arena and Ramjohn. Just to name a few] and their mission was obvious- confronting the non union private developers that find joy, in killing our trade.
It’s my DUTY to show union support. Unfortunately, while I was holding hands with other civil members, I would witness the Teamsters delivering Concrete to the same adversary [That sure made perfect sense].
This is a big problem- a problem that hurts solidarity! And to add more topping to the cake, this out of control and pathetic behavior[Deliberately, ignoring other unions that are on strike] brings joy to the very force that despises all unions.
A normal brain will realize and accept the following :
👉🏼The crossing of any picket line brings shame to the Union. This pathetic shame makes J.Hoffa turn in his grave. It also scares the core of CBA.
👉🏼Sympathy strikes are GOLDEN ! – rank and file must take its head out of the sand, and encourage this formula- * for the benefit of its members. And more importantly, to clue solidarity!
👉🏼In theory, ALL unions must stick together! – The more that we disregard the fight from other unions, the more that solidarity will decay. And better yet, a feeble solidarity will equal, a delightful union busting.
👉🏼The non union is constantly out there – We— the—power— to—organize—and put the snakes head under our heal.
The union has no time for any monkey business nor should we let cancerous egos impeded with the torch of, solidarity.
👉🏼To all rank and file[With fat salaries] stop the BS ! And let’s all hold hands and have a series of civil marches or rallies ! – stop the BS !
I know that we can do it ! – stop the BS!
👉🏼Lets organize yesterday 🤦🏻♂️
