A container ship hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, destroying it and sending it plummeting into the water. Six people, construction workers and mostly immigrants, who were working on the bridge, are either missing and presumed dead, or have been pulled from the water. But for those who work on the port, now closed, their job security is non-existent until the port is re-opened. There are 2,400 International Longshoremen’s Association members who are hired for this work on a daily basis only.
