The International Brotherhood of Teamsters have triumphed by reaching a five-year tentative agreement with Anheuser-Busch. The agreement significantly raises pay, improves health care and retirement benefits, and provides critical job security for all 5,000 Teamsters at Anheuser-Busch breweries nationwide. Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien said, “Teamsters make the beer, Teamsters make Anheuser-Busch successful, and our members deserve the best contract. That is what we fought for and won today.” The agreement was reached on Feb. 28. He also said that the brewery giant “knew our members were serious and prepared to do whatever it would take to get a fair agreement.”
